Description: Gunung Belumut, which translates literally as mossy mountain in English, is said to have gotten its name from the prevalence of mossy and slippery rocks in the area. At the height of over 1010 feet above sea level, it is the third highest mountain in the state after Gunung Ledang, also known as Mt. Ophir (1276m) and Gunung Besar (1035m).

Jun 01, 2010 · 19 Jun 2010 - Gunung Belumut (1010 m) is situated in Kluang, Johor and is about 2.5 hrs drive from Singapore. We arrived at about 9am and started the trek assisted by local guides. It is compulsory to hire a local guide from the ranger office when you trek in Belumut. Depending on your group size, you may need more than one guide.

The park has two entry points, one in Sagil, Johor and the other in Asahan, Melaka. Gunung Ledang's peak, which is 1276 m above sea level is the highest point in the park and Johor. Gunung Ledang is also the 64th highest mountain in Malaysia and arguably the most climbed mountain in the country.

The trail starts at the Gunung Lambak Eco Resort on the outskirts of Kluang town. I parked in the hotel's car park and found my way to the trail via a suspension bridge which crosses a small stream. As the bridge was closed off due to disrepair, I had to go underneath and hop across the stream.
Gunung Gede and Gunung Pangrango are two peaks located in the famous Gede-Pangrango National Park 2 hours away from Jakarta. Standing at 2958m and 3019m respectively, the twin peaks provides a picturesque trek all the way to the top. The hike is not technically difficult but you will be expected to trek about.

Sep 03, 2019 · Gunung Lambak is a fairly easy walk. It gets a bit steep at the top but it is well worth the effort. No guide needed but I met a couple of people who were keen to accompany me. It s a fascinating walk through the tropical rain forest.

I am still eager to climb Gunung Belumut. My plan to climb the mountain this year has been hampered by the construction works taking place to improve the facilities of the park. The usual me, this is just one of those mountains that can be covered.
